Sawyer Is Here!
ANNOUNCING THE BIRTH OF NICHOLAS SAWYER SOLHEIM, JR.
Born in a hurry, always late… I know it’s a Kacey Musgraves lyric, but this line could definitely describe the birth of Sawyer Solheim. Sawyer waited wayyyy past his due date to arrive — but when he decided to come on August 17, he only put me through three hours of labor (thanks, buddy).
Sawyer was born with a full head of jet-black hair, weighing in at 8 lbs 8 oz. He’s already a very alert newborn who loves to stare adoringly into his parents’ eyes — or at the ceiling fan. We’re so grateful for his safe arrival and already love watching the bonding between Sawyer and big sister Margot.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the amazing support we’ve received since Sawyer’s birth, from local friends who dropped off meals, to out-of-town friends who sent flowers and gifts, to the encouraging texts I’ve received from friends who know that this is both a challenging and cherished time in any mom’s life! This little boy doesn’t even know how truly blessed he is.
My number one rule for uplifting the mom with young kids in your life is not to overthink it. Dropping off a box of wipes or snacks can make someone else’s day. I wrote a little bit about how you can show love to a new mom in your life in my first Substack post after Margot’s birth in 2022 — read it here.
